My Go-To Buttercream Frosting!

My Go-To Buttercream Frosting!

*I first want to note that this recipe is originally from My Cupcake Addiction, though I have tweaked it slightly over the several years I have been using it!*

Ingredients

5 c. powdered sugar

1 c. [2 sticks] room temp butter

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

4-5 tbsp. milk (or more depending on consistency preference)

Instructions

1. Cream butter on medium high mixing speed until smooth & fluffy.

2. Add in your powdered sugar 1/2 - 1. cup at a time mixing for 1-2 minutes until combined. Start on a low speed and slowly raise to medium as to avoid a powdered sugar mess .😅

3. About 2-3 cups in, your butter & sugar mixture will start to thicken, you can now add your vanilla and milk (add milk a tbsp. at a time to ensure you do not add too much!)

4. Add in remaining powdered sugar.

5. Keep mixing until light, fluffy, and spreadable. (at this point if your mixture is too stiff, add more milk until it is your desirable consistency. if your mixture is too liquid-y, add a touch more powdered sugar (only about a 1/4 at a time) until you reach your desirable consistency).

6. Taste test 😉 and enjoy!
